Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep received an alleged threat letter amid the speculation over him joining the saffron party on Tuesday. After the actor's manager received the letter, the police registered a case based on his complaint.

According to ANI, Kichcha Sudeep's manager Jack Manju got a letter from an unknown person on social media. Upon opening the message, the manager was shocked to find the letter which threatened that the actor's 'private videos' would be released.

Following this, the actor's manager gave a complaint to Puttenahalli police.

The police registered a case under various sections of Indian Penal Code. The police also started the investigation.

Senior officers as per ANI said that they are even mulling handing over the case to Central Crime Branch.

Talking about the incident, Sudeep as per ANI said, "Yes, I have received a threat letter and I know who sent it. I also know, it was by someone from the film industry. I will give them a fitting reply."

"They know me and my residential address, which is why they sent the letter by post. I will bring everything out. I will reply to the threat letter," he said.

The letter has come at a time when there are speculations that Kichcha will join the BJP on Wednesday.

Some of the party people have been alleging that Kichcha Sudeep and Darshan Thoogudeepa will join the BJP on Wednesday.

The party sources said that the actors will join BJP in the presence of Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai in a hotel at 1.20 pm on Wednesday.

Earlier, Kichcha hinted that he has been getting offers from political parties in the past to join their parties but he has not made up his mind. He also said that he will decide after consulting with his fans if he wants to enter politics.

However, it can be noted that Sudeep is the brand ambassador of 'Punyakoti Dattu Yojana', a cattle adoption scheme brought by Karnataka government.
