Tamil Nadu: Class 12 Govt School Student Dies In Villupuram, Police Suspect Suicide Due To Family Pressure
As per the preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the girl could have taken the extreme decision since her parents were making arrangements for her marriage.
Chennai: A Class 12 student of a government school in Villupuram district died on the way to the hospital from her school on Wednesday. The police suspect that the student could have taken her own life due to family pressure.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, the girl went to school as usual on Wednesday but soon she started to vomit. She then reportedly admitted to her friend that she took sleeping pills. The friend immediately informed the teacher and the headmistress. The girl was rushed to Kannai Primary Health Centre but doctors referred her to Villupuram Government Hospital. However, she died on the way to the hospital.
The police have registered a case under sections of unnatural death of the Indian Penal Code and started the investigation.

In the past month, five suicides of school students have been reported in Tamil Nadu. The first death in the spate of suicides was reported in Kallakurichi where a Class 12 girl died under mysterious circumstances on July 13.

While the school management alleged that she died of suicide, the family raised suspicion over the death.
