The deceased, Alamelu, was a resident of Kundrathur in the Kancheepuram district. After being diagnosed with Covid-19 infection, she was admitted to Chengalpattu Medical College Hospital on May 19 and she died on May 22 without responding to the treatment. Subsequently, the hospital management had refused to hand over the body of the deceased as she died of Covid-19 despite several requests to hand over the body to the relatives and assured to cremate the body on their own. As the hospital management remained stern on their decision, the relatives stopped insisting on them and were under the impression that the hospital management cremated Alamelu’s body.
