Tamil Nadu: CB-CID Officials Conduct Investigation In AIADMK HQ Attack Case
After the AIADMK HQ clash, RDO sealed the party office but later reopened it after 10 days and handed over the keys to EPS.
Chennai: The CB-CID officials on Wednesday started to investigate the clash that erupted between the factions of AIADMK leaders Edappadi Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam at the party headquarters in Chennai on July 11. As a result of the clash, several valuables were vandalised at the headquarters and a party member was injured during the fist fight.
According to a report on The Hindu, the officials led by DSP Venkatesan started to hold supervision at the party office on Wednesday morning. The CB-CID initiated the action based on the complaint filed by AIADMK leader CVe Shanmugam.
In the complaint, CVe Shamugam alleged that O Panneerselvam and his followers vandalised the party office. He even moved Madras High Court about CB-CID officials’ inaction over his complaint.
On July 11, while AIADMK General Council meeting was being held at Vanagaram, the two groups of AIADMK workers clashed outside the party office.
In the meet at Vanagaram, EPS was elected as the single leader of the party.
On the other hand, OPS arrived at the party office and issued an order ousting EPS from the party.
Meanwhile, some AIADMK members barged into the HQ and started creating a ruckus. The police beefed up the security.
Yet, a clash erupted between the supporters of both factions resulting in Tamil Nadu police sealing the party headquarters in Chennai.
