Chennai: A 64-year-old woman candidate fielded by AIADMK in 19th ward of Mayiladuthurai for ward councilor post passed away due to cardiac arrest. The candidate Annathatchi was reportedly involved in rigorous campaigning along with a fast on Friday.  


According to a report on ABP Nadu, the AIADMK candidate Annathatchi on Friday was involved in a rigorous campaign along with other AIADMK members. She was also fasting in the morning since it was Friday, which is considered auspicious. 


After the rigorous campaign, she had lunch and went to Chinna Mariamman Temple for a function. During that time, the candidate experienced dizziness and she was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

However, the doctors declared her brought dead. The final rites are taking place at her home in Mayiladuthurai on Saturday. 


Along with Annathatchi, 858 candidates have submitted nominations to contest in various posts in the wards of the districts.

The death of the AIADMK candidate comes days after the demise of another AIADMK candidate from Kanchipuram who killed himself. The AIADMK Kanchipuram candidate Janakiraman campaigned for his victory until Wednesday and even Edappadi K Palaniswami introduced him as the candidate on Wednesday. However, Janakiraman was found dead at his home on Thursday.


 


However, the reason for his extreme decision is unknown.
