In Kerala, an accident was reported on early Saturday as a tourist bus veered out of control and overturned, leaving one person dead and 13 others wounded, according to the police. The accident reportedly took place as the bus was en route from Thiruvananthapuram to Udupi in neighboring Karnataka.

"The driver might have dozed off at the wheel. It was a slope and the bus went down after losing control," a police officer said.

The deceased man got trapped beneath the vehicle and his life could not be saved though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, they added, according to a report on PTI.

Last year, a road accident near Government Medical College and Hospital in Kallakurichi led to the tragic death of two women, both temporary staff at the hospital.
