Kashyap's counsel, senior advocate Siddhartha Dave, submitted that the petitioner was facing five prosecutions in Tamil Nadu and Bihar.
“I am praying that let Bihar FIR be the lead FIR. Let there be a hands-off approach in other FIRs… I am being taken to Tamil Nadu where I do not even understand the language. This is astounding and threatening the sovereignty of the nation,” Dave said, as per PTI.
However, Senior advocate Kapil Sibal appearing for Tamil Nadu said that it was not a simple matter since Kashyap's video resulted in deaths.
Meanwhile, Manish Kashyap on April 5 appeared before the Madurai district court.
The court ordered that he should be remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
Following this, he was sent to the Madurai central prison. Earlier, cases were filed against Kashyap for circulating fake videos claiming that Bihari migrant workers were being attacked in Tamil Nadu. The videos went viral and created tension between Tamils and migrant workers.
