President Not Invited To New Parliament As She Is A Tribal, Widow: Udhayanidhi's Fresh Attack

Sanatan Dharma Row: Udhayanidhi highlighted that BJP got the Adheenams from Tamil Nadu for the inauguration but the President of India was not invited and asked whether it was 'Sanatan Dharma'.

Earlier, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin created a controversy with his statement on 'Santan Dharma'. 

To sharpen the attack on Sanatan Dharma, Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said President Droupadi Murmu was not invited to the inauguration of the new Parliament building as she was a "widow and a woman from a tribal community". He asked whether that was what they call Sanatan Dharma. At an event in Madurai earlier on Wednesday, Udhayanidhi said, "The new Parliament building was inaugurated. They (BJP) got the Adheenams from Tamil Nadu for the inauguration, but the President of India was not invited because she is a widow and is from tribal community."

He said that the President was not invited when it was hosting its first-ever session, a five-day special sitting where the women's reservation bill was passed on Wednesday.

"Is this Sanatan Dharma? We will continue to raise our voice against it," he said.

The Minister said that a female Hindi actor was permitted into the new Parliament building but there was no permission for the president. "Why? Because Draupadi Murmu is from a tribal community because she has lost her husband. This is what we call sanatana dharma," he said.

Earlier, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin created a controversy with his statement on 'Santan Dharma'.  He said, “There are some things which we have to eradicate and can’t merely oppose. Mosquitoes, dengue, fever, malaria and corona, all these are things that we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatanam (Sanatan Dharma) is like this.”
