Chennai: PSBB School Teacher Rajagopalan Arrested For Sexually Harassing Students

The social media outrage by the student alumni group of PSBB school in Chennai has brought this issue to light

Chennai: After a huge outrage on social media by the PSBB alumni, the Accountancy and Business Studies teacher Rajagopalan was arrested for sexually harassing students of the school’s KK Nagar Branch on Monday.

After an Instagram influencer, who happens to be an alumna of the school, had posted it on her page, the issue has spread like wildfire. Students have also complained that Rajagopalan took online classes dressed in only a towel and made inappropriate remarks. Rajagopalan had allegedly touched female students inappropriately in school while making derogatory comments about women and texted inappropriate messages to his students during virtual classes, often commenting on their bodies and clothes.

The PSBB alumni released a statement and enlisted their demands to the school: The statement reads, “The teacher, who was a faculty member of the school for 20 years is also a class teacher, which means he has access to student’s personal information — students’ phone numbers, their parents’ phone numbers, and their addresses. He is also an in-charge of correcting exam papers and other valuations, and he threatened students of giving low grades if they complain about his misconduct.”
