Ponniyin Selvan Actor Jayam Ravi Tests Positive For COVID-19
Jayam Ravi informed about his health condition and requested all the people who came in contact with him to get themselves tested if necessary.
Chennai: Ponniyin Selvan actor Jayam Ravi tested positive for novel coronavirus on Friday. He is currently under self-isolation.
Taking to social media, Jayam Ravi said, “Earlier this evening I tested positive for Covid-19. Following all protocols, I have immediately isolated myself.”
“I sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested if necessary. Mask up. Stay safe! God bless,” he said.

Jayam Ravi played the role of Arunmozhi Varman in the movie Ponniyin Selvan. For the past two months, Ravi had been traveling to multiple states to promote the movie along with the crew.

Jaya Ravi also has movies Agilan, Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 and Iraivan in the line up. He has also started filming for an untitled movie directed by M. Rajesh.
In July 2022, Ponniyin Selvan director Maniratnam got admitted to a hospital in Chennai after he started showing symptoms for coronavirus. However, the hospital ruled out that it was novel coronavirus.
In January 2022, Ponniyin Selvan actress Trisha tested positive for the virus.

A day before the audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan, movie actor Vikram suffered mild discomfort and was hospitalised at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. While reports said that Vikram suffered a heart attack, his son Dhruv Vikram said that the actor just had a mild chest discomfort and will be soon be discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, the next and the final part of Maniratnam’s magnus opus is expected to hit the screen during the summer of 2023.
