Sr. NTR 100th Birthday Celebrations: Family Members, Politicians & Celebs Pay Tribute To Legendary Actor-Politician
On the 100th birth anniversary of Sr. NTR, his daughter Purandeswari, who also served as former Union Minister, requested RBI to print the photograph of NTR on a Rs 100 coin.
Chennai: Tributes started to pour in from politicians, celebrities and fans of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on his 100th birth anniversary celebration on Saturday. NT Rama Rao, popularly known as Sr. NTR, is a popular household name in the Telugu states. Sr. NTR has acted in several movies and has aced mythological characters. He has also served as the Chief Minister of the then united Andhra Pradesh three times in 13 years before his death in January 1996 due to a massive cardiac arrest.
On the birth anniversary of Sr. NTR, his daughter Purandeswari, who also served as former Union Minister, has requested RBI to print the photograph of NTR on a Rs 100 coin.
The son of Sr. NTR, Nandamuri Balakrishna released a note regarding the centenary birth celebrations of his father.
In the note, Nandamuri Balakrishna said, "My father established Telugu Desam Party and made sure Telugu culture rose. The 100th birth anniversary of my father Shri. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao will start on May 28th and will run till May 28, 2023 for 365 days."

In a post in Telugu, Jr NTR, grandson of Sr. NTR said, "Always remembering you."
He also shared an image marking the centenary birthday of the leader.

Apart from the family members, thousands of fans, politicians and celebrities remembered him on his birth anniversary and recalled some of the important moments of his life and achievements.
On Saturday, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said, "My humble tributes to the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh & legendary thespian, Shri N.T. Rama Rao on his birth anniversary. He was a leader of the masses who cared deeply for the welfare of the people."
"His iconic performances enthralled the audience for many decades," he said.
