‘Why Should I Field A Union Minister To…’: Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai On Rumours Of Fighting LS Polls
Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai mentioned that BJP entrusted him with certain responsibilities regarding the party's growth in the state and he was actively fulfilling those duties.
Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai termed his contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as 'speculations' and said that he would abide by any decisions taken by the party. The ex-IPS officer stated that he harbored no 'personal prejudice or any likes and dislikes in BJP'.
On Lok Sabha elections and AIADMK leaders challenging PM Modi, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai said, "I am not going to respond to speculations whatever our senior leaders decide my duty is to obey. I don't have any personal prejudice or likes and dislikes in BJP. Why should I field a Union Minister to show that the party has grown,? Why cannot we field our booth president or district president?"
"One argument is it's all on the party to decide whom they want to field and the second argument is we can even field the booth president as our party is like that. Many of our tallest leaders who are sitting in Delhi including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, started his life as a booth president," he said.
