TN CM Stalin Congratulates Amputee Student Who Scored 437 In Class 10 Exam

The CM also assured that the state will provide all necessary assistance for the student.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin congratulated Kriti Varma, an amputee student, who scored 437 out of 500 marks in Class 10 board examinations. The CM also assured that the state will provide all necessary assistance for the student.

Taking to social media, Stalin said, "While watching the public exam news, the news of student Kriti Varma's success caught my attention. Congratulations to student Kriti Varma!"


"A shining light of hope, Kriti Varma, a student, should study many more courses and excel. Our government will support him," he said.

The CM also congratulated him over the phone.

Kriti Varma is a student of Nedumaruti Government Higher Secondary School in Krishnagiri district. Kriti Varma reportedly lost his limbs at the age of 4 due to an electric shock. 

At 4, Kriti was reportedly playing outside a poultry farm, where his parents were working, with a stick when it suddenly touched an overhead powerline and he suffered an electric shock. 

When he was rushed to the hospital, the doctors then amputated his limbs. 

After the incident, Kriti's father reportedly abandoned the family, said a report in The Hindu.

From then to here, his headmistress S Anandhi said that it was a long journey. She said that Kriti wrote his exam holding a pen in between his amputated limbs. 

Kriti said that he wants to keep his mother happy and after his education, he wants to join a company to do whatever he can to help others in need. Kriti is further set to do his higher secondary education in Computer Science and Maths stream at Krishnagiri Government School.
