Tamil Nadu: Ennore Factory Responsible For Ammonia Gas Leak To Be Shut
At the time of the gas leak, several workers were present on the premises of the factory in the Nandesari GIDC area.
After a sudden ammonia gas leak led to health concerns and the hospitalization of several individuals in Ennore, Tamil Nadu Minister of Environment and Climate Change Meyyanathan Siva ordered the closure of Coromdandel International Limited Industry till further orders. The ammonia gas leak, detected in a sub-sea pipe in Ennore, reportedly caused discomfort to five individuals who were subsequently admitted to a healthcare facility.
"Coromdandel International Limited Industry to be shut till further orders," said Meyyanathan Siva V, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Tamil Nadu.

DIG, Joint Commissioner Avadi, Vijayakumar tweets, said, "No need to panic. Stabilised. No more gas (ammonia) leaks at Ennore. People reassured and are back home. medical and police teams present."
