Based on the complaint, police registered cases under three sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 294 (using obscene languages) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt).

The police also arrested all four members after checking the CCTV footage.

The attack by four members against migrant workers has come at a time when TN CM Stalin met the guest labourers and assured their safety in the state. Earlier, a controversy started after a 'fake' video claimed that Bihari migrants were attacked by Tamils in the state. Bihar government also sent special teams to verify the claims and rubbished them as fake news.
