Yogi Govt Presents 7,000 Crore Supplementary Budget, Focus On Youth & Welfare Schemes

UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the supplementary budget on Wednesday. The Yogi government presented a supplementary budget of over 7,301 crore rupees in the House.

New Delhi: The Yogi Government in UP presented the supplementary budget in the state assembly on the second day of the monsoon session. State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the supplementary budget on Wednesday witnessing ruckus from opposition parties. The opposition protested on issues like inflation, unemployment.

7,000 Crore Supplementary Budget 

On Wednesday, the state government presented a supplementary budget of Rs 7301.52 crore in the state assembly for the financial year 2021-22. Presenting the Supplementary Budget, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that this budget is 1.33 percent of the annual budget of Rs 5.50 lakh crore set for the current financial year. He said that this is a small supplementary budget and specifically focuses on things that are for welfare schemes.

Focus On Social Schemes

The Finance Minister said 3000 crores has been provided to create employment opportunities, especially for the youth. Some of the highlights of the Supplementary Budget include payment of sugarcane, social security fund for advocates, construction of Ambedkar Memorial and Cultural Centre, Anganwadi, increase in honorarium for ASHA workers and chowkidars, improvement in power system, maintenance of bovine animals, and provision of facilities and parking in Ayodhya as well as an increase in infrastructure.

Khanna said a detailed discussion in the assembly can be done tomorrow. 

"Public vision is the biggest criterion for evaluating any government and today the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has created new records of the voice of the people and also broken many old records," the Finance Minister said.

"So, I would like to request the entire House that it is a supplementary budget of only 1.33 percent. It would be great if everyone passes it without any discussion," he added.
