Woman Bites Akasa Air Staffer At Lucknow Airport After Quarrel With Co-Flyers
An FIR was filed against a woman passenger booked on an Akasa Air flight to Mumbai for biting an employee of the airline.
A woman passenger of Akasa Air was deboarded after she allegedly bit a crew member of the airline at the Lucknow airport. The police said that the passenger was to take a flight to Mumbai. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when passengers of Akasa Air flight QP 1525 were boarding the plane scheduled to take off at 5:25 PM. According to news agency IANS, an FIR over the incident was lodged at Sarojini Nagar police station.
Speaking about the incident, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sarojini Nagar Shailendra Giri said that the woman was stressed and "not in a sound mind". "She had engaged in a heated argument with fellow passengers after boarding the flight. When the flight crew attempted to calm her down, she again lost her temper. Later, the ground staff was called to deboard her," Giri was quoted as saying by IANS.
Quoting Lucknow Joint Commissioner of Police Akash Kulhari, India Today reported that the woman was unwilling to leave and tried to force her way into the aircraft. When airport security personnel tried to pacify her, the woman started a quarrel with them and bit one a staffer's hand, reported IANS. This led the airline to call the police and hand her over to the cops.
The woman passenger, who hails from Agra, was booked under IPC Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (breach of peace). She had come to Lucknow to meet her sister, the police said.
The woman was sent to her relatives after the registration of the FIR.
