Uttarakhand: Char Dham Yatra To Begin From July 1; Trip Card Mandatory For Pilgrimage

It has been made mandatory to make a trip card to visit Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand. Trip cards will be made for private vehicles.

Dehradun: The Char Dham Yatra is going to start in Uttarakhand from 1st July. The state government has made the trip card mandatory for visiting Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib. Trip cards will be made for private vehicles. The trip card can be made using the Green Card software.

Entry Cess Hiked
The government has also increased the entry cess. Private vehicles will now have to pay more in the form of user charges. Earlier, this fee was Rs. 20, but now you will have to pay Rs. 30 more, i.e., Rs. 50 for every trip.

High-Security Number Plate Mandatory
It is mandatory for all types of vehicles going to Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib to have high-security number plates under the Motor Vehicles Act. Vehicles without high-security number plates will not be allowed.

Char Dham Yatra to Start from 1st July
The state government has decided to start the Char Dham Yatra from 1st July for local devotees and from 11th July for residents of the state. From 1st July, residents of Chamoli district will be able to visit the Badrinath temple, Rudraprayag residents can visit Kedarnath, and the people of Uttarkashi can go to Gangotri and Yamunotri temples. From 11th July, these places will be open to visitors from all over the state. You can only enter the temples if your COVID-19 RTPCR or Rapid Antigen Test Report is negative.
