UP Election 2022: Terrorists Were Fearless During Samajwadi Party Rule, Says PM Modi In Varanasi

PM Modi in his address said that when benefits of the public welfare scheme would reach to all the beneficiaries, the appeasement and discrimination would end.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched an attack on the Samajwadi Party saying that it did not take action against terrorists responsible for bomb blasts on ghats of Kashi and rather withdrew cases against them.

“In Kashi, there used to be bomb blasts on the ghats. The terrorists were fearless because Samajwadi Party was with them. The govt was openly withdrawing the cases from the terrorists,” he said addressing an election rally in Parliamentary constituency, Varanasi.

“We have seen how much people have stooped low in Indian politics but when in Kashi prayers for my death were done, I felt elated. This meant that till my death neither I will leave Kashi nor its people will leave me,” he added.

He accused the Samajwadi Party of obstructing the BJP whenever they wanted to work towards development in the State. “When these Pariwarwadis (SP) were in power, they used to put obstacles in whatever work we used to bring for the development of UP. But in the last five years, the double engine government has tried sincerely for the development of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

PM Modi in his address said that when benefits of the public welfare scheme would reach to all the beneficiaries, the appeasement and discrimination would end.

“I announced from the Red Fort that the benefits of public welfare schemes should reach 100% of the beneficiaries. When this happens, there will be no possibility of appeasement, no discrimination,” he said.

Varanasi constituency would undergo polls in the seventh and final phase of polling.

Polling for the fifth phase of UP Assembly elections is underway for 61 seats. The last two phases of polling will take place on March 3 and March 7, while the votes will be counted on March 10.
