Three-Day G20 Events To Start In UP's Varanasi From Today

There will be a total of six G20 meetings in Varanasi, the first of which will start on Monday.

New Delhi: Varanasi is all set to host the three-day G20 events from Monday, news agency PTI reported. According to officials, representatives of 20 leading countries and delegates from other partner countries will take part in the meeting of the Agriculture Working Group from April 17 to 19.

There will be a total of six G20 meetings in Varanasi, the first of which will start on Monday.

There will be an opening of MACS (Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists) 2023, Sustainable Agrifood System for Healthy People and Planet, on the first day of the summit on Monday.

The first session of the meeting will focus on Food Security and Nutrition: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation and the second session will be on ‘Resilient Agri-Food System’. In the evening, the G20 delegates will take part in the Ganga Aarti at Kashi.

On the second day, there will be a session on ‘Digital Agriculture and Sustainable Agri Value Chain’ and ‘Public Private Partnership in Agriculture R&D: Perspective from Developed and Developing Countries.

The guests will then visit Sarnath in the evening and see the museum and light and sound show, and a cultural program will be held at Buddha Theme Park.

Ahead of the G20 meeting, the Yogi Adityanath government has made tight security arrangements and have decorated the city.

With the motto of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, India is hosting the G20 Presidency this year. The theme of the G20 Indian Presidency is 'One Earth, One Family and One Future', that celebrates the spirit of togetherness and harmony among the people to ensure a bright future for the world.

It is to be noted that about 80 foreign delegates from G20 countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the European Union will take part in the events in Varanasi.
