President Murmu Attends IVRI Convocation In Bareilly, Honours Achievements In Veterinary Science
President Murmu attended IVRI's 11th convocation in Bareilly, joined by top UP leaders. The event honored achievements in veterinary science amid tight security and enthusiastic student participation.

Bareilly (UP), Jun 30 (PTI) – President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bareilly on Monday to participate in the 11th convocation ceremony of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), a premier institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The event is being held at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium located on the institute's campus in Izatnagar, Bareilly.
According to officials, President Murmu is attending the ceremony as the chief guest. The convocation marks a significant milestone for the students and scholars of IVRI, which is recognized for its contributions to research and development in veterinary and animal sciences.
Upon her arrival in Bareilly, President Murmu was welcomed by a high-level delegation including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel. Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, was also present to receive her.
Taking to social media, Chief Minister Adityanath posted a message in Hindi on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his warm welcome to the President. He wrote, “Hearty welcome and felicitation to Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu ji in ‘Nath Nagri’ Bareilly,” referring to the city’s traditional identity. The President's Secretariat also posted on X, confirming that the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister, and Union Agriculture Minister were present to receive the President at the venue.
The ICAR-IVRI in Izatnagar is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in India, dedicated to advancing veterinary research, animal health, and livestock productivity. It plays a crucial role in supporting India’s agricultural and rural economy by developing technologies and producing trained manpower in veterinary sciences.
The convocation ceremony is expected to witness the awarding of degrees to meritorious students who have completed their academic programs, as well as recognition of academic and research excellence in the field of veterinary sciences.
Security arrangements were tightened in and around the IVRI campus and along the President’s route in Bareilly to ensure smooth conduct of the event. The local administration had made elaborate preparations ahead of the President’s visit.
