2 Killed, 17 Hurt As Under-Construction Building Collapses In UP's Muzaffarnagar
The collapse of an under-construction building in UP's Muzaffarnagar has claimed the lives of two people and left 17 injured.
Muzaffarnagar Building Collapse: Two people have been killed and 17 have been injured after the collapse of an under-construction building in Uttar Pradesh, Muzaffarnagar on Sunday night. The rescue operations have been completed. According to ANI, the rescuers, along with local police, pulled out 19 labourers buried under the debris of the market building. However, two people succumbed to their injuries.

The authorities have apprehended two people including, the landlord and contractor in connection with the incident.
"Authorities have apprehended two suspects, including the landlord and contractor, in connection with the incident, which occurred as a result of the market building collapsing in the Jansath police station vicinity," the official said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abhishek Singh told ANI on Sunday, while he was at the scene that the collapse was reported at 5:30 PM that this complex fell
"It was reported at 5:30 in the evening that this complex fell. We have two lintel structures and we are removing the above lintel structure...We have rescued 15 people as of now and we are more than hopeful that we will rescue the other people who are inside this. The operations are on. It was a two-floor complex", Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abhishek Singh told ANI on Sunday.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the administration to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured and the safe rescue of the trapped persons. On Sunday night, teams from SDRF and NDRF were deployed at the site based on the chief minister’s instructions.
