Holi 2024: Restrictions and Prohibitions in Noida

Under the imposed restrictions, no religious prayers or processions will be permitted at public places or disputed sites on Holi. Additionally, the consumption of liquor or intoxicating substances in public places is strictly prohibited, with violators warned of action under IPC section 188, PTI's report stated.

The order highlighted concerns over potential disruptions of peace due to protests scheduled for March 25, coinciding with Holi and Dhulandi festivals, as well as upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Additional DCP (law and order) Hirdesh Katheriya stressed the urgency of the situation, leading to the passing of the order ex-parte.

"Considering the seriousness and urgency of the situation and due to paucity of time, it is not possible to provide an opportunity of hearing to any other party, hence this order is being passed ex-parte," the order stated, as per PTI.

The order prohibits unlawful assemblies, unauthorised processions or demonstrations, and the use of private drones within a 1 km radius of government establishments. It also bans the carrying of weapons such as sticks, rods, tridents, swords, and firearms in public places.
