Goa CM Pramod Sawant, His Cabinet Members Offer Prayers at Ayodhya's Ram Temple

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with his cabinet members on Thursday paid a visit to the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and members of his Cabinet on Thursday offered prayers at the recently inaugurated Ram temple in Ayodhya. Describing the temple as a "symbol of the profound love, trust, and faith of millions of Indians", Sawant expressed his sentiments in a post on social media.

He wrote on X, "Feeling blessed to visit and offer prayers to Shri Ram Lalla at #Ayodhya Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. The Ayodhya Shri Ram Mandir is the manifestation of the love, trust, and belief of crores of Indians in Prabhu Shri Ram."

"The temple has been built after a Jan Aandolan of centuries and Balidan of many Karsevaks. I once again congratulate Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji for the Pran Pratistha of Shri Ram Lalla. Prayed for the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the people of Goa. May Shri Ram Lalla bless us all. #JaiShreeRam." Sawant and his Cabinet colleagues also shared a group photograph on X.

The consecration of a new idol of Ram Lalla at the Ayodhya temple on January 22 marked a historic event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, over 300 legislators from Uttar Pradesh embarked on a journey from Lucknow to the Ayodhya temple on Sunday. Organised by the state government, this event was notably unattended by the Opposition Samajwadi Party. The group included members of Jayant Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), whose presence was interpreted as an indication that the party was prepared to switch sides from SP and join the ruling BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann and their families, also paid homage at the temple in Ayodhya. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prema Khandu visited the temple on February 6. He hailed it as the culmination of centuries of struggle and sacrifice by devotees of Maryada Purushottam Ram, PTI reported.

The 70-member delegation led by Khandu marked the first political delegation from a state visit to Ayodhya after the consecration ceremony.
