WATCH: Massive Fire Breaks Out At Dumping Ground In Noida

The fire was brought under control and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida, Shakti Awasthi, said that the reason for the fire was dry leaves lying in the dumping ground.

A massive fire broke out at a dumping ground in Noida, Sector 32 in Uttar Pradesh late Thursday night. Giving information, a senior police official said fire engines were deployed to bring the blaze under control. After a while, the fire was brought under control and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida, Shakti Awasthi, said that the reason for the fire was dry leaves lying in the dumping ground. These caught fire and spread the fire across the dumping ground.

"The fire broke out at a dumping ground in Noida sector-32. Efforts are on to extinguish the blaze. All the officials are present on the spot," said Shakti Awasthi.

"Dry leaves lying in the dumping ground had caught fire. Police and 4 fire tenders are present on the spot. The fire has been brought under control", ANI quoted ADCP Shakti Awasthi

Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday, a fire broke out in the office of the Superintendent of Postal Goods Godown at Ghanta Ghar Road in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh on Thursday. To bring the blaze under control the four fire tenders reached the spot.

“We received the information of an old godown catching fire. Our 4 fire tenders reached the spot. The godown was a wooden-based structure, which made it a bit difficult to control the fire. Still, the work is under process. The reason behind such an incident is not clear as of now,” Fire Officer Virendra Singh Pal told ANI.

In a similar incident last month, a few apartments of Greater Noida’s Gaur City 14th Avenue caught fire. The video clip of the fire incident showed huge flames at the flats of the high-rise society. However, Bisrakh police station officials reached the spot and took control of the area. The fire initially started on the balcony of the first floor of an apartment and later spread to the other floors. No casualty or injury was reported.
