Agra Woman Jumps On Railway Track To Scare Live-In Partner, Gets Mowed Down By Train

The incident occurred around 11:08 pm on Monday following a heated argument between Rani and her live-in partner, named Kishore and reportedly jumped onto the railway tracks afterwards to scare him.

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a 38-year-old woman in Agra died after being mowed down by a train at the Raja Ki Mandi station in the city, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Rani who lost her life after being struck by a train.

The incident occurred around 11:08 pm on Monday following a heated argument between Rani and her live-in partner, named Kishore and reportedly jumped onto the railway tracks afterwards to scare him, as per a report of India Today.

According to police reports, Rani and Kishore had been residing together in Barf Wali Gali, Lohamandi area. Kishore, employed as a chow mein vendor, returned home around 10 pm on Monday, appearing to be in an inebriated state.

Within minutes, the live-in partners began arguing over his drinking habits, despite attempts to dissuade her, Rani threatened to end her life by jumping in front of a train.

Moments later, at the station, their quarrel escalated, leading Rani to leap onto the tracks in an attempt to frighten Kishore. 
she was unable to evade an approaching train in time, becoming trapped between the platform and the Kerala Express.

Rani was  rescued by RPF outpost in-charge Laxman Pachauri and his team of constables after being pulled from beneath the train at the Raja Ki Mandi station.

She was rushed to SN Medical College for urgent medical attention but she succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the hospital.

Inspector Samar Bahadur, overseeing the GRP Cantonment, shared insights into Rani's troubled past, as recounted by her partner, Kishore. This included the unfortunate death of her former husband, Dharmendra, attributed to excessive drinking.

Rani had been in a relationship with Kishore for over a year. Upon being informed of the accident, Rani's father, Vinod, revealed to the police that she had three sons from her previous marriage. While two of her children resided with her, the eldest lived separately,reported India Today.

Inspector Bahadur confirmed that Rani's body had been sent for a post-mortem examination. "As of now, no formal complaint has been lodged, but further action will be taken once a complaint is received," Inspector Bahadur stated.
