Andhra Family Returning From Funeral Killed As Car Collides With Container Truck

The accident, which took place in YSR district on Monday, resulted in the deaths of five people: four people in the car and the container truck driver. 

Five people were killed when a car collided with a container truck on the Kadapa-Rayachoti National Highway on Monday. The collision took place near Chinthakommadinne, and resulted in the deaths of four people travelling in the car and the container truck driver. 

According to IANS, the car passengers included a family returning from a funeral. They were residents of Konnepalli village in Chakrayapet mandal of Andhra Pradesh's YSR (Kadapa) district.

When police arrived at the scene, they sent the bodies for autopsy. As per the report, the driver of the container truck is yet to be identified.

Police have registered a case and will carry out further investigation. 

In another accident on the same day in the district, two people were killed when the car they were travelling in overturned. The accident occurred near Chintagunta in Dhuvuru mandal in YSR district. The people were travelling to Tirumala from Kurnool. Five other individuals were injured in the accident. 

As per IANS, police say the car overturned when the driver lost control while speeding. A police officer told the agency they had registered a case and launched an investigation.

Accidents in Telangana

A woman riding pillion died in the neighbouring state of Telangana on Monday in a grisly accident. She fell off the motorcycle when an autorickshaw collided with the vehicle, and was run over by a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus.

The deceased was identified as Ramya. Kaushik, the person riding the bike, was grievously injured and is said to be in critical condition. A case has been registered in connection with the accident at Keesara Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

In a similar incident, a young woman was killed the same day while riding with her father on a motorbike on the Begumpet flyover in Hyderabad when a DCM van hit them, according to a report by Telangana Today. The deceased was identified as Prasanna, 22. The woman sustained head injuries when she fell off the bike after the collision and died on the spot. Meanwhile, the father was injured and taken to a hospital.
