In Fazilka, a new fish seed farm has emerged, covering 3,223 acres and offering quality fish seed to local farmers. The government’s commitment to providing fish seeds at subsidized rates from 16 government fish seed farms ensures that every aspiring fish farmer can access the resources they need.

Moreover, the Maan government has initiated an exciting program for fish farming in rivers, introducing 300,000 fish seeds into various waterways. This effort, combined with subsidies for equipment such as fish transport vehicles and cold storage systems, is fuelling a new wave of aquaculture in Punjab—one that promises to bring fresh fish to your tables while creating economic opportunities for farmers.

Strengthening Veterinary Services: A Safety Net for Farmers

In the heart of Punjab’s farming communities, the wellbeing of livestock is paramount. To ensure farmers receive the support they need, the Maan government is committed to strengthening veterinary services at every level. During the financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24, the recruitment of 326 veterinary officers and 503 inspectors has made quality healthcare more accessible to farmers and their animals.

Under the aegis of Verka, initiatives to modernize dairy processing and packaging are taking shape, with cutting-edge automatic machinery being installed in facilities across Ludhiana, Firozpur, and Jalandhar.

Through free training programs, they are learning the latest techniques in dairy management, enabling them to produce higher quality milk and dairy products.
