New Delhi: Two people were killed in Pune's Kalyani Nagar early Sunday morning after a speeding Porsche car, driven by a 17-year-old identified as Vedant Agarwal, crashed into their motorcycle, police said.


The incident occurred around 3.15 am as Anish Awadiya and Ashwini Costa were returning home with friends on motorcycles after a night out at a club. Agarwal's Porsche Taycan rammed into Awadiya and Costa's bike at Kalyani Nagar junction, according to an NDTV report.


The impact of the crash flung the two riders into the air, and they landed on another car. Both were killed on the spot. After colliding with the motorcycle, the Porsche crashed into the pavement and came to a stop.

Local residents apprehended the driver, assaulted him, and then turned him over to the police.


A case was registered against Agarwal at the Yerawada police station under various sections, including 279 (rash driving), 304A (death by negligence), 337 (endangering human life), and 338 (causing grievous hurt), along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

In North Carolina, Abbaraju Prudhvi Raj's car collided with an unattended vehicle on the road. However, due to the deployment of airbags, all occupants of the car were saved and moved to safety at the side of the road.


Prudhvi Raj, intending to call the police, approached the crashed car to retrieve his phone. However, a moving vehicle hit him, leading to his death, a report by news agency IANS said.


Prudhvi Raj had been working in the US for eight years and had recently celebrated his second wedding anniversary.
