At least nine people were killed late on Friday after the bus they were travelling in caught fire on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Haryana's Nuh, reported PTI. The accident took place when the bus was returning with devotees from Vrindavan, said Nuh MLA Aftab Ahmed, adding several people inclduing elderly, women, and children got injured.
The injured have been brought to Nuh Medical College.
"I would say that this is a very painful, sad and heart-wrenching incident. The devotees were returning from Vrindavan. The bus caught fire and several people inclduing elderly, women, and children got injured...," Ahmed said while speaking to news agency ANI.
There were 64 people on the bus, said one of the injured passengers, Meena Rani, claiming that the bus driver fled from the spot.
"We were returning from Vrindavan. We don't know how the fire broke out. 10 people have died. 64 people were there on the bus...," she told ANI.
