Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra to attend a slew of events including the inauguration of multiple roadways and railways projects in the southern district on February 27 and 28. During his visit to the southern states, PM Modi is anticipated to visit Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and inaugurate several developmental initiatives for Rs 17,300 crore in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

  • On Tuesday at 10:45 AM, the Prime Minister is slated to visit the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

  • On the visit, the PM's office said, "Prime Minister’s vision to reform the country’s space sector to realise its full potential, and his commitment to enhance technical and R&D capability in the sector will get a boost as three important space infrastructure projects will be inaugurated during his visit to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram."

  • The three significant projects comprise the PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, the new 'Semi-cryogenics Integrated Engine and Stage Test Facility' at ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri and the 'Trisonic Wind Tunnel' at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram.

  • The three projects were developed for Rs 1800 crore.



























  • During his visit, the Prime Minister will also assess the progress of the Gaganyaan Mission and confer 'astronaut wings' upon the astronaut-designates. The Gaganyaan Mission marks India’s inaugural human space flight program, for which extensive preparations are currently underway at various ISRO centers.

  • On Tuesday at approximately 5:15 PM, the Prime Minister will engage in the program 'Creating the Future – Digital Mobility for Automotive MSME Entrepreneurs' in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

  • The Prime Minister will also inaugurate two significant initiatives aimed at bolstering and advancing MSMEs in the Indian automotive sector. These initiatives encompass the TVS Open Mobility Platform and the TVS Mobility-CII Centre of Excellence.














  • During the public program in Thoothukudi on Wednesday, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O.Chidambaranar Port

  • At 9:45 AM on Wednesday, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation rail projects for the doubling of the Vanchi Maniyachchi – Nagercoil rail line, which includes the Vanchi Maniyachchi – Tirunelveli section and the Melappalayam – Aralvaymoli section. These projects were developed at a cost of about Rs 1,477 crore.

  • The Prime Minister will also inaugurate four road projects in Tamil Nadu, which were developed at a total cost of about Rs 4,586 crore.
