Pune Authorities' Bulldozer Action Outside Trainee IAS Officer Puja Khedkar's Home — WATCH

The Khedkar family had reportedly beautified their property by extending into the footpath area with plants, prompting a notice from Pune Municipal Corporation.

Amid mounting troubles for trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday took action against the alleged encroachments outside her family residence in Baner, Pune. The Khedkar family had reportedly beautified their property by extending into the footpath area with plants and an "unauthorised structure", prompting a notice from PMC.

A bulldozer was deployed to remove the unauthorised construction outside her residence, News 18 reported.

However, they did not respond despite the notice, which eventually led to the removal of the encroachment.

PWC officials had pasted a notice outside Khedkar's residence on July 13, asking them to clear an "unauthorised" structure measuring 60 feet in length, 3 feet in width, and height of two feet, built along the footpath adjoining the property.

“We had put up the notice at the bungalow asking them (Khedkar’s family) to remove the encroachment within seven days. The notice said if the family failed to remove the structure within seven days, PMC would clear it and recover the expenses from them,” news agency PTI quoted a senior civic official as saying.

An official also told PTI that the alleged encroachment might have been removed by the family as the deadline set by the PWC was not over yet.

This comes after Puja Khedkar's probation was put on hold by the government. Khedkar was asked to report at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Aministration in Mussoorie at the earliest.

The trainee civil servant was relieved from District Training Program of State Government of Maharashtra on Tuesday.

A letter fromAdditional Chief Secretary Nitin Gadre, addressing Puja Khedakr read: "...LBSNAA, Mussoorie has decided to keep your District Training Program on hold and immediately recall you for further necessary action..."

"Therefore, you are hereby relieved from District Training Programme of State Government of Maharashtra. The letter from the Academy is attached herewith. You are instructed to join the Academy at the earliest but not later than 23rd July, 2024 under any circumstances," it stated further.

Puja Khedkar had also lodged a harassment complaint against Pune district collector Shubas Diwase with Washim police on Tuesday.

The trainee officer is caught up in controversies over allegations of manipulation of disability and Other Backward Class certificates to clear the civil services exam.

A single-member committee has been formed by the Centre to probe these allegations against Khedkar.

On Sunday, Khedkar's private luxury car was confiscated by the Pune police. Puja Khedkar had adorned her car with a red beacon light and a plate with an inscription of "Maharashtra Government".
