Independence Day: In Poll Year, MP CM Chouhan Announces Jan Awas Yojana, Schemes For Youth & Cops
Madhya Pradesh: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the image of Madhya Pradesh, which was earlier known as BIMARU state, had changed under the BJP regime.
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a flurry of schemes for unemployed youths, the poor and police personnel during his speech at the government's Independence Day programme. Speaking at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal after hoisting the national flag, Chouhan said the image of Madhya Pradesh, which was earlier known as BIMARU state, had changed under the BJP regime.
Madhya Pradesh goes to polls later this year along with Rajasthan, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
"A glorious, prosperous and powerful India has emerged under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. There was a time when Madhya Pradesh was known as Bimaru state. But, today the picture of the state has changed," Chouhan said.
The CM said the Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana would be launched on August 22 in which youths would be provided with necessary skills to get better jobs.
"Along with recruitment in government jobs, many self-employment schemes are going on continuously in Madhya Pradesh. On August 22, the Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana scheme is also going to be launched to make a bright future for the youth," Chouhan said.
The CM also said the poor people who were not included in the "Awas Plus" scheme would be given houses under the Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana.

"The names of our poor brother and sisters that have been left out will be included in the new list under Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana after a survey and our government will provide free pucca houses to all of them," Chouhan said.
Chouhan also announced a hike in several allowances for policemen. He said the policemen would now receive a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000, up from Rs 650, for nutritious meals. The allowance for kits and clothing has also been increased to Rs 5,000.
"Our police personnel work day and night to maintain law and order in the state. We have decided that the cost of 15 litres of petrol per month will be reimbursed to the employees to the level of sub-inspector for the journey undertake for official work," the MP CM said.
