Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi Education Minister Atishi visited Rajkiya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in West Vinod Nagar in the national capital on Tuesday.


They interacted with the students, and the students tied rakhis to both of them, with the visit coming days before the festival.






Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court on August 9 in connection with the corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam after 17 months in custody. Delhi Education Minister Atishi, while inaugurating a new school in the Nasirpur area of Dwarka, and during her address she linked the inauguration of the school to the release of Sisodia, who had laid its foundation.


He was granted bail on certain conditions lined by the Supreme Court, Sisodia must furnish a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh with two sureties. The AAP leader must also surrender his passport to the police station. He has also been asked to report to the investigating officer twice a week – on Mondays and Thursdays. Further, the court refrained the leader from attempting to influence witnesses or tamper with evidence. A day after his release, Sisodia, along with several AAP leaders, visited Raj Ghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He also visited Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place where he offered prayers.


In February 2023, Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of Delhi’s now-scrapped new excise policy. The policy was withdrawn after the opposition raised allegations of foul play.


According to CBI, Sisodia played a key role in the criminal conspiracy and was deeply involved in both the formulation and implementation of the policy.
