During the altercation, Shyam suffered severe head and back injuries. He was initially treated at the Pachpedwa community health centre (CHC), where Dr. Vijay Kumar reported that Shyam arrived unconscious. Later, Shyam was referred to the district hospital but died en route.
Following this, Bindu, fearing arrest and potential blame for the death of Shyam, reportedly hanged himself from a mango tree near his home early Sunday morning. The local police were notified and arrived to investigate, according to SHO Pachpedwa, Awadhesh Raj Singh.
The SHO confirmed the death and noted that while the dispute is well-documented, neither family has filed a formal complaint. He also suggested that the death of Shyam might have been related to an existing illness.
