Heavy rains are expected to batter Delhi on Wednesday as the India Meteorological Department has sounded a 'yellow' alert for the national capital and the adjoining regions. As per the IMD, there is no warning in Delhi for the next two days after which heavy rains are likely to lash the city on Saturday.
No warning has been issued in Delhi for Sunday. Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab have also similar forecasts as the national capital.
For the next five days starting Wednesday, heavy rains are expected to continue in eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh with the India Meteorological Department issuing a 'yellow' for all the five days.
However, western parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive 'very heavy' rainfall on Wednesday as IMD has issued an orange alert and 'heavy' rainfall on Thursday with a yellow alert. No warnings for Friday and Saturday, while on Sunday, the western parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive 'heavy' rainfall.
In Uttarakhand, an orange alert with 'very heavy' rains is forecast to batter the state on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. For Thursday and Sunday, the state might receive 'heavy' rains.
Himachal Pradesh, which is already reeling under the aftermath of cloudburst and landslides may see more rains on Wednesday with IMD issuing an orange alert for three days. On Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, the state is likely to receive heavy rains with the Met Department issuing a yellow alert.
A yellow alert has been raised in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for Wednesday with heavy rains while no warning has been issued for the next two days. On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh may again experience heavy rainfall, as per the IMD.
West Rajasthan is expected to have clear skies for the next three days while heavy rains are likely to occur in East Rajasthan for the next five days.
