Delhi News: An 18-year-old man lost his life, and his friend was injured when an air conditioner's outdoor unit fell on them from the second floor of a building in Central Delhi, officials reported on Sunday. As per PTI, the police informed that the injured individual, Pranshu (17), is currently receiving treatment and is not in a condition to provide a statement.
The CCTV video of the incident that surfaced online, shows Jitesh sitting on a scooter in the Doriwalan area and talking to Pranshu. Amid conversations, suddenly the AC unit fell on them, causing injuries to both.
"On Saturday, at around 7 pm, information regarding the falling of an AC outdoor unit on a person was received at Desh Bandhu Road police station. The unit fell on two boys from the second floor," a senior police officer said. The injured were quickly rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared Jitesh dead on arrival, while Pranshu was admitted for treatment, the officer added.
An FIR has been registered under sections 125(a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, he also said. "The forensic team has examined the scene and further investigation is in progress," he added.

Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident in Southeast Delhi
A 35-year-old man was killed after being struck by a speeding Mercedes car in southeast Delhi on Saturday morning, according to police, news agency PTI reported. The incident occurred near the Bhogal Flyover in the Ashram area while the victim, identified as Rajesh from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, was en route to work.
Police said that the driver of the Mercedes, Pradeep Gautam, a 45-year-old resident of Noida, has been arrested. The vehicle reportedly collided with Rajesh’s bicycle from behind, dragging it several metres along the road. The impact resulted in Rajesh’s immediate death at the scene, PTI reported.
Following the accident, Gautam fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities.
