Virat Kohli Expresses Grief On Deaths Of Soldiers In Ladakh Bus Accident

Seven soldiers were killed and 19 others were injured when an army vehicle fell into the Shyok River in Ladakh's Turtuk sector on Friday.

New Delhi: Former Indian team captain Virat Kohli has expressed condolences on the martyrdom of seven Indian Army army personnel who passed away in a road accident in Ladakh. Seven soldiers were killed and 19 others were injured when an army vehicle fell into the Shyok River in Ladakh's Turtuk sector on Friday.

Taking to his Twitter, Virat Kohli tweeted, "Devastated to hear about the loss of lives of our brave soldiers. My condolences to the bereaved families and praying for the speedy recovery of all those who are injured."

Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh wrote, "Deeply saddened to hear about the tragic road accident in Ladakh today. Heartfelt condolences to the families of our brave soldiers who lost their lives in the accident. The nation stands with you."

"Seven army personnel were killed and 19 injured, some of them critically, when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into the Shyok River in Ladakh's Shyok river on Friday," officials said.  The accident took place in the morning in the Turtuk sector, in which the vehicle fell from a height of about 50-60 feet.

When the unfortunate accident occurred on Friday, Virat Kohli was playing in the second qualifier of IPL 2022 where his team Royal Challengers Bangalore faced defeat against Rajasthan and was eliminated from the tournament. Virat Kohli could not do much in this match and was dismissed after scoring 7 runs. With this, Virat's worst outing in his entire IPL career ended too. In IPL 2022. Virat managed to score only two half-centuries and he scored 341 runs in 16 matches at an average of 22.73.
