BCCI Announces Venues For Home Series Against South Africa Comprising 5 T20s In June

BCCI announces venues for the home series against South Africa comprising five T20 Internationals in the month of June.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the venues for the upcoming South Africa tour of India comprising five T20Is in June 2022. The series opener between India and South Africa will be played on June 9 in Delhi. India-South Africa five-match T20Is will be played across Delhi, Cuttack, Vizag, Rajkot and Bengaluru. The last time Indian cricket team played an international T20 series was against Sri Lanka which they had easily won 3-0.

Just a few months back, India had toured South Africa for a Test and ODI series. It was during this tour when Virat had shocked the cricket fraternity by announcing his decision to step down as team India's Test captain. Virat stepped down as India's T20 captain last year after which BCCI replaced him with Rohit Sharma as India's ODI skipper. Rohit now leads the national team across formats.

Venues for South Africa’s tour of India 2022:

First T20I - June 9 (Delhi)
Second T20I - June 12 (Cuttack)
Third T20I - June 14 (Vizag)
