Sarfraz Khan Eyeing Team India Spot With Condition Specific Practice

Sarfraz Khan, who was first spotted for his brilliance in the under 19 level for the Indian team, lost his ground after losing a year in between when he shifted his base from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh and coming back to the cricketing capital of India.

New Delhi: After scoring an unbeaten triple hundred against Uttar Pradesh followed by another double versus Himachal in Dharamshala, Sarfraz Khan is already in the reckoning for a place in the national side. The talented 22-year-old went close to crack another hundred, but missed it by just 22 runs while playing against Saurashtra in Rajkot. On a turning track, Sarfraz played his natural game which is instinctively aggressive in nature . "We are focussing on condition specific practice and that has fetched good results. Let me give you an example. Before the match in Dharamshala, he [Sarfraz] only played against the fast bowlers at the nets and faced faster balls with the bowling machine on. When Mumbai team travelled to Rajkot, we had a prior idea that Saurashtra will invite us on a turning track. So, the preparation was on such lines. This is the need of the hour in modern day cricket and Sarfraz is doing that," his father Naushad Khan told ABP News during a telephonic conversation. On the question of whether Sarfraz is confident to seal a place in Team India, his father said: "Of course he is! But I have told him not to take any extra pressure and at the moment he is only focussing on one match at a time. His time will definitely come."

Sarfraz Khan, who was first spotted for his brilliance in the under 19 level for the Indian team, lost his ground after losing a year in between when he shifted his base from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh and coming back to the cricketing capital of India.
The youngster had played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise earlier and showed his brilliance in glimpses.
Now perhaps Sarfraz is ready for a consistent run of success. Meanwhile, Mumbai will now desperately look for an outright victory against Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy in order to stay afloat for a place in the knock out stages.
Mumbai will next face Madhya Pradesh on their home turf. Sarfraz , who is the middle of a solid run, will definitely look forward to score another big knock.
