BCCI Official Reacts To Ross Taylor's Explosive Allegation Of Being Slapped By RR Owner
Ross Taylor revealed in his autobiography that one of the owners of Rajasthan Royals (RR) had slapped him in the face during his stint with the IPL franchise.
New Delhi: Former New Zealand veteran batsman Ross Taylor made a sensational revelation in his autobiography. In a book titled "Black and White", which was released earlier this week, Taylor talks about an unpleasant incident that happened to him in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ross revealed in his autobiography that one of the owners of Rajasthan Royals (RR) had slapped him in the face during his stint with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise after he was out for a duck (zero runs) in an IPL match against Punjab Kings (Kings XI Punjab). The Kiwi legend did mention he was not sure "it was entirely play-acting".
"Rajasthan played Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. The chase was 195, I was lbw for a duck and we didn't get close," Taylor was quoted in his autobiography by stuff.co.nz.
"One of the Royals owners said to me, 'Ross, we didn't pay you a million dollars to get a duck' and slapped me across the face three or four times," Taylor revealed.
"He was laughing and they weren't hard slaps but I'm not sure that it was entirely play-acting. Under the circumstances I wasn't going to make an issue of it, but I couldn't imagine it happening in many professional sporting environments," the iconic Kiwi batter wrote.

Speaking to Insidesport, a BCCI official reacted to Taylor's claim and was quoted as saying by Insidesport, "I am on the road travelling now so I do not know exactly what you are talking about."
Ross Taylor, who holds the record for scoring the most runs for New Zealand in international cricket, retired back in April this year.
Talking about Taylor's international career, he has played a total of 450 international games for New Zealand between 2006 and 2022 and has scored a total of 18199 runs at an average of 42.72. He has scored 40 centuries, 93 fifties in his career. The stylish batter has scored 7683 Test and 8607 One Day International runs.
