Tokyo Olympics Wrestling: Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya Reaches Wrestling Final, Secures Silver Medal For The Country

Indian Wrestler Ravi Dahiya advanced to the Olympic final after defeating Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev in the semifinals of the men's freestyle 57kg category of the wrestling event on Wednesday.

Tokyo Olympics Wrestling: Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar advanced to the final of the Tokyo Olympics after defeating Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev in the semifinals of the men's freestyle 57kg category of the wrestling event on Wednesday. He has at least secured a silver medal for the nation.

He defeated his opponent in a spectacular fashion. After Ravi Kumar Dahiya emerged victorious in the competition, all his family members and villagers in Sonepat, Haryana, cheered. Locals in his village are celebrating his victory while congratulating his family for his success.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya defeated Kazakhstan's Noorislam Sanayev in the semi-finals to advance to the final while securing another medal for India. Ravi defeated NoorIslam 7-9 through fall in the semi-final. Ravi was trailing 7-9 but Noorislam could not continue the game due to an injury, making Indian wrestler Ravi reach the finals. Dahiya had earlier won both matches on the basis of technical proficiency. 

With this, Ravi has also secured the country's fourth medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He will now at least get a silver medal when he reaches the final. However, his focus will be on bringing home the gold. Ravi made his debut in Tokyo in the best possible way. He defeated Colombia's Oscar Tigraros 13-2 in the opening bout, which he won based on technical superiority. He then defeated Bulgaria's Giorji Wangelov 14-4 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. Sushil Kumar had earlier won a silver medal by making it to the finals at the 2012 London Olympics.
