Ravi defeated NoorIslam 7-9 through fall in the semi-final. Ravi was trailing 7-9 but Noorislam could not continue the game due to an injury, making Indian wrestler Ravi reach the finals. Dahiya had earlier won both matches on the basis of technical proficiency.
With this, Ravi has also secured the country's fourth medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He will now at least get a silver medal when he reaches the final. However, his focus will be on bringing home the gold. Ravi made his debut in Tokyo in the best possible way. He defeated Colombia's Oscar Tigraros 13-2 in the opening bout, which he won based on technical superiority. He then defeated Bulgaria's Giorji Wangelov 14-4 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. Sushil Kumar had earlier won a silver medal by making it to the finals at the 2012 London Olympics.
