Paris Paralympics 2024: Sachin Khilari has won a silver medal for India in the Men's Shot Put- F46 event in the Paris Paralympics 2024. While Sachin was briefly in the lead with a best throw of 16.32 metres, a distance he recorded in his second attempt. However, Canada's Greg Stewart, who eventually won the Gold medal, had a best throw of 16.38 metres which came in the fifth attempt before taking the lead with a 16.34 metre throw in the third attempt.



India had other representation too in this event with Mohammed Yasser and Rohit Kumar also featuring in the final but they fell well short of the podium finish with best throws of 14.21 and 14.1 respectively. India's overall medal tally now stands at 21, which is already their best-ever, having overtaken their previous best pf 19 medals set in Tokyo three years ago.

Bhavina Patel’s Table Tennis Campaign Ends In Quarterfinal


Meanwhile, Tokyo medallist Bhavina Patel's Table tennis campaign ended in quarterfinal following her defeat against Ying Zhou of China in four games. Bhavina had lost to Zhou even in Tokyo but this time around it was at thei quarterfinal stage, implying that she would not be returning to India with a medal like last time from the Paralympics. Bhavina had won the silver last time around.

With India have already surpassed their best-ever tally, the Indian contingent would now be aimimg at the 25-mark as their immediate next target which seems pretty possible, given Indians continue to be in medal contention in quite a few of the remaining events.
