Notably, India's badminton star Nitesh Kumar considers Virat Kohli as his hero. The commentator for the world was talking about the same while on air during Nitesh's gold medal match. However, the broadcaster said that most people in India look up to Kohli as their cricketing hero.

Nitesh Kumar Bags Gold


As it turned out, much like his sporting idol Kohli, Nitesh Kumar made the country proud. The badminton star won the gold medal in the Paris Paralympics 2024 in the Men's Singles SL3 category. In a thrilling gold medal match, Nitesh got the better of Danile Bethell 21-14, 18-21, 23-21.

Nitesh's gold was among the highlights of India's most successful day at the Paralympics ever with India winning 8 medals in a single day, to end Day 5 with 15 medals to their name. India had ended Tokyo Paralympics with 19 medals to their name but this time around, they look set to surpass that number with ease.
