PV Sindhu's Paris Olympics 2024 campaign came to a heartbreaking conclusion with a 0-2 loss to China's He Bing Jiao. Sindhu lost 21-19, 21-14 to the sixth-seeded Chinese player in the round of 16, exiting the women’s singles badminton event at the Paris 2024 on August 1 (Thursday). This marks the first time Sindhu has not won an Olympic medal, following her bronze in Tokyo and silver in Rio before that.
The 29-year-old struggled to launch a consistent offence and was outpaced 21-19, 21-14 by He Bing Jiao in a 56-minute round of 16 match. Throughout the match, Sindhu struggled to keep up with He Bing’s fast attacking shots. Sindhu lost the first set 19-21 in a closely fought match, and in the second set, she was defeated 14-21.
