Arshad Nadeem, with that attempt, also broke his personal best record, and this throw proved to be the confidence-breaking moment for all the other competitors, as their attempts looked feeble in front of the 92.97m throw by Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem.
Arshad Nadeem Becomes First-Ever Athlete With Two 90M+ Throws In Men's Javelin Throw Final
Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem not just broke the Olympic record for the farthest throw in the history, but now also becomes the first-ever athlete with two 90m+ throws in the Men's Javelin Throw final. The second throw of Arshad Nadeem was the record-breaking throw of 92.97 metres, but it was his sixth and final attempt that saw him register this iconic feat, as he recorded a throw of 91.79 metres.
Such was the dominance of the Pakistani athlete in the final, that his second-best attempt was way better than second-placed Neeraj Chopra's best attempt of the night, as the Indian athlete managed an 89.45 metre throw, which proved to be his only legitimate throw, as he now loses his 'Olympic Champion' title to Arshad Nadeem.
