Paris Olympics 2024: Indian grappler Aman Sehrawat lost 0-10 in his semi-final bout against Japanese top seed and World Champion Rei Higuchi in men's 57 kg freestyle category. Sehrawat was a win away from securing a silver medal and advancing to the gold medal match, but after the loss, he will now compete in the bronze medal match.

Aman Sehrawat is one of the most promising young wrestlers from India, and carries a huge chip on his shoulder. The 21-year old is the Asian champion in the 57kg freestyle category (2023), and also managed to bag a bronze medal in the same category at 2022 Asian Games.

2022 was the prominent year of the wrestler, as he announced his arrival on the big stage by winning the gold medal at the U23 World Championships in the very same category.

Aman Sehrawat has not changed his weight category since 2022, and given the momentum he has, India can hope for more laurels to follow-in in the near future.

Aman Sehrawat's Journey At Paris Olympics 2024

Aman Sehrawat's opening bout took place against Vladimir Egorov of North Macedonia and the Round of 16 proved to be a cakewalk for the Indian, as he registered a win on the basis of technical superiority, and the scoreline, at the end of the match, read 10-0.

In his quarter-final fixture, the 21-year old came up against Abakarov Zelimkhan of Albania, who just like the North Macedonian in the Round of 16 fixture, failed to take a point off the Indian, as once again, Aman Sehrawat registered a win via technical superiority, as the scoreline, at the end of the match, read 12-0.

The young prodigy from India then faced World Champion Japan's Higuchi Rei in the semis in which he faced a crushing 0-10 loss.
