Paris Olympics, Day 13: What a day it was for Indian fans at the Paris Olympic Games 2024. While it had been a few tough days for the Indian team heading into August 8 and the Indian men's hockey team even conceded an early goal, in the end they did well to come out on top and win the match to ensure a bronze medal match.
India had their best bet for a gold medal compete in the Men's Javelin Throw final with Neeraj Chopra topping the qualification mark with a monster throw which was his season best. And boy did he come to the party in Paris. His throw ensured India win their first silver medal in Paris Olympics with a throw that bettered his qualification mark. He, however, fell short of Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem's best throw who set a new Olympic record and breached the 90-metre mark twice in his six throws.
