Manish Narwal added a silver medal to India's medal tally in the Paris Paralympics 2024 to help them bag their fourth medal. The shooter did not had great start as he started the first series of 5 with a shot of 8.1 but recovered with shots of 10.5, 9.8, 10.0 and 10.3 to remain sixth after the first series with a score of 48.7. 



However, Manish improved throughthout the contest on his way to a medal. With a cumulative score of  97.2, Manish moved up to the fifth place. In the elimination rounds, Manish came to his own and rose up to the fourth place after the first elimination round where he hit scores of 10.1 and 10.4. After the second elimination he was in the silver medal position and never looked back from there as he had a cumulative score of 137.6.

Manish Narwal even grabbed the top spot for a while after the third elimination round but slipped to second in the fouth elimination round. The 22-year-old  stayed at the second place till the end of the shooting fixture to grab the silver medal, India's third medal in shooting on the day and their fourth overall.


Notably, this happens to be the second medal for the para-shooter from Faridabad in the Paralympic Games. Last time around Manish had managed to clinch the gold medal. With a second Paralympic medal, Manish now becomes the sixth Indian with mutiple medals in the Paralympics with the other five being Joginder Bedi, Devendra Jhajharia, Mariyappan Thangavelu, Avani Lekhara & Singhraj Adhana.

Avani had become the first Indian to win two medals at a single Paralympic Games in Tokyo and has now added a third Paralympic medal, another gold in Paris.
