Paris Olympics 2024 concluded earlier this month. However, it seems like there is no stopping the awards that are being received by their Olympic champion javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem. And now Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem has received a massive honour from The President. He was honoured at the President's official residence- Aiwan-e-Sadr-  with the Olympic record-setter being given the Hilal-i-Imtiaz honour which happens to be Pakistan's second highest civilian honour.

Notably, it was Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif who had announced that Arshad would be bestowed with the Hilal-i-Imtiaz honour on August 13. The award ceremony was held at Islamabad-situated President's official residence. It was here that Arshad Nadeem was given the honour by the President Asif Ali Zardari. Notably Arshad Nadeem's Gold medal ended Pakistan's long drought for an Olympic medal.

India's Neeraj Chopra Will Have To Wait For Second-Highest Civilian Honour

While Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal in Paris, India's Neeraj Chopra has won two Olympic medals. While he clinched the gold medal in the Japanese capital, he was on the podium yet again in the French capital, winning the silver medal with a better throw than the one in Tokyo.

While Neeraj too has been recognised with awards like the Khel Ratna Award- the highest sporting honour and the Padma Shri-the fourth highest civilian honour, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem has been bestowed the Hilal-i-Imtiaz which is the second highest civilian honour of the nation. Given Neeraj's achivement and the medals that are still ahead of him, it seems only a matter of time before the javelin thrower will be given a higher honour.
